Hey, remember me?

WHOA!  It’s been a dog’s age since I’ve posted anything.  So much has happened in the last few months, I need to catch ya’ll up!  Let’s see, 2012…. I don’t even know where to begin.  Last year I decided to jump into this fine art of photography.  I didn’t really have a clue as to what I was doing, just wanted to give it a try.  You can see what I shot last year so I won’t re-hash it all.  Good stuff, but 2012 is going to be and has been, so much better!  My blog in the next weeks will be reconnecting and sharing the growth and love from the last 7 months.  I’ve been busy.

First, let me say that I’ve made a new friend.  I’ve followed photographers before, but one always stuck out at me as a true inspiration.  Her work spoke to me.  She captured moments that, even though I had no idea who the clients were, tugged at my heart.  People who know me know that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I felt that this photographer, whom I followed religiously, did as well.  One day, she posted that she was looking for a second shooter.  My heart stopped.  I wanted to be THAT person.  We had emailed back and forth about sessions and she guided me through email for my first wedding, so she vaguely knew who I was.  I sent in my “portfolio” and hoped for the best.  Well, I’m officially her second shooter now.  Best.  Experiences. Ever.  We met at Starbucks and the rest is history.  A great mentor and amazing friend.  Oh, and you need to check her out, by the way.  www.ahedgesphotography.com  Amy is amazing!!!  Like her on Facebook (A. Hedges Photography), visit her blog (leave comments, she LOVES that!), and visit her site!  She has pushed and challenged me more than ever and I am so grateful.  Rich, my husband, isn’t a fan of the $$$$ that has left my wallet in regards to Amy’s urge to grow my arsenal of camera bodies, lenses, and supplies….. But, so worth it!

So, thank you, Amy, for taking me under your wing and allowing me to work with you.  It is a complete honor and I am so grateful!
(Really, you need to check her out!!!)

Amy, Rebecca (Amy’s assistant), and I at our last wedding. Havin’ a little fun on the job! What, we’re allowed!
